The Myth Of Faith

Ah! A brilliant start to a year,
Not a bad thought nothing to fear,
No pain to hide, no sign of cataclysm,
Times look good ahead - notice the sarcasm.

Pain filled syringe straight to the chest,
First the adrenaline, then the rest,
A burst of blood upon the sight of lies,
Silently explodes the capillaries of the eyes.

Give in to the vertigo,
There's nothing that can be done,
Fall into the bottomless pit,
Never again see the sun.

Trust - a myth, a tale,
A subtle phenomenon that lasts only to fail,
A delicate veil that seems to blind,
The blatant seering truth behind.

The air of faith you breathe,
The blade of trust in sheath,
Will soon find place in your hand,
And spill your own blood upon the land.

A walk upon a thread,
The final destination-left for dead,
The dreams you dream will see a sudden disembarkment,
And render thou a lonely vagrant.

The bottle of trust that one does cling,
Shall eventually melt back from whence it came,
Rewind to the fine grains from where it was made,
And bury into the sand dunes where it will forever fade.

  1. Harish, I could sense it, so I'm not going to say much. On the other hand, the poem deserves admiration from me. So excellent!

  2. A well written piece, some of it kind of dark and foreboding.....As a poet you go where your art leads you.

  3. Trust is mere a word ,but we often trust people,
Dreams so many, undefined but they exist,
Life is not about getting everything we thought was ours,
It's about living with each and everythng which comes across.

    To end with,
It has been nice knowing you,not long enough though,
nd even if the start is dull, I hope u get everythng wich u deserve this 2011 nd cumin yrs!!

  6. As human children we were taught to live in myths ever since we evolve. Like, you know we're expected to trust our parents. Though, they were stranger once. So, what i want to say is; I'm speechless. But, i do know how it feels when someone shatters your faith. Good work hun! Take good care of you! Promise me you will?

  7. What a wonderful creation human beings are, Harish!,
What perfection of innocence and beauty comes ingrained in our souls
Have you seen the sweet trust children wear as their own flesh?
This marvel of creation is so cruelly shattered by our own volition.

You have depicted all these condition with a incredible insight!
No one, who through living has experienced the fallen nature of our poor species,
can stop the cascade of feelings your words pour into the soul.

You are a poet, a prophet, and a sensitive person, man!
Your inner being enrich humankind, and enhance the hope for a betterment of the human creature!

  8. Agreed Liam. And to add to that here's quoting "The Crumbling": We were always our own kryptonite.

    Thanks for your kind words.
