This is the paradigm I was brought into,
Flame and precipitation from fright filled eyes.
Famine and rationing,
Death - the only freedom that remains.
Trudge down these blood stained streets,
With tainted clothes and a leg and a half,
Turrets and tracks-
Replace civil horns and tyres on these roadways.
Siren cracking through the smoke filled air,
Women and children in hiding,
Men in action fighting no longer for their countries,
But for their own right to free life.
Countless posters on these broken walls,
Lists of martyrs and honored brave,
Eye for an eye, tooth and nail,
Perish to protect our own grail.
Save for the demons who fuel this fire,
Preachers who sign the declaration to this carnage,
Stealing souls for their own amusement,
Wrath thrown forth for domination.
Mother call out to me,
Father are you out there?
Paint me a picture,
Of legendary blue skies and clear air.
Amber atmosphere particulated with ash,
Not a soul remains,
Smeared and demarked,
Without red and gash.
Rubble fills my environment,
Stone for my pillow,
Choking upon the dust of this destruction,
Wherever I go is what I call home.
Deleniated warzones like the expanding universe,
No man's land now a myth,
Like a broken ever shaken snow globe,
My world burns and flakes.
I trudge on, not knowing where I might reach,
Perhaps a new lifeless land I will seek,
Why was I brought into this purposeless sphere,
I hear insanity's calling,
Perhaps he'll give me something new to see...
